Photographer Joseph Bui spent time with City Wide Club, at their 46th Annual Super Feast, in downtown Houston. This is one of many events where local volunteers embody the holiday spirit and give back to others in the community. Super Feast is widely regarded as the “Nation’s Largest Feeding and Turkey Distribution,” allowing thousands of families to receive all that they need for a holiday meal. Super Feast, where volunteer shifts were sold out even the day before Thanksgiving, has a host of different options: dine in to receive hot turkey dinners, drive thru to pick up frozen turkeys and baked goods. Beyond food, others volunteered their time giving free hair cuts and helping others look through clothes and shoes to take home. Bui documented moments of cheer and generosity that embody Houston’s heart.
